Hello! 

My name is Kassidy Copell, but I also go by Nurse Kassidy. I joined FHS as a School Nurse in 2018. While in college, I realized that I would really like to eventually teach students about healthcare, at either the secondary or collegiate levels. After paying my dues during the Covid era, I was given the opportunity to pursue that dream with FHS. I completed my teaching program last year and this will be my second year as a teacher! As a 2001 graduate of FHS, it has been surreal to be back here working along with teachers who were so influential during my own high school experience. It is because of them that I have such a passion for education and sharing my knowledge of healthcare. 

My classes this year are Principles of Health Science, Pharmacology, Medical Terminology and Health Science Practicum (Pharmacy Tech certification). My teaching philosophy is that you have to nurture the person before you can teach the brain. I try to make my classroom as calm and relaxing as I can. Having experienced a significant loss in January 2022, I understand more than most how outside situations can affect the ability to learn, especially in a school environment where expectations often feel very high. It is this loss that has also drawn me to work with those students who may have also endured a traumatic experience, and guide them as they navigate a very different home life situation than their peers. 

I have one child who is entering Middle School this year, a cute little Doxle, and two terrible cats! I love to travel, read, and I have a Starbucks & tiktok addiction. 

I cannot wait to start this new school year with my students!
