Welcome to Mrs. Setterbo's Economics Class!
I was born in Nashville, Tennessee. My father was in the Air Force, so we lived in several different places while I was growing up, including New York, Florida, Oklahoma, and the country of Turkey. I have traveled to many countries in my 55 years and I hope that has given me a unique perspective that I can share with my students.
About My Family:
I have been married to my wonderful husband, Eddie, for 30 years. We have two incredible daughters. They are both alumni of FHS. Our oldest graduated from Texas State and is a Public Information Officer for the City of San Antonio. Our youngest graduated from Texas Tech with a Master of Science in Agricultural Communication. She is currently working as a marketing specialist in Dallas. We share our home with 2 cats and 2 dogs. They allow us to live here as long as we cater to their every whim. We are long time members of the Episcopal Church and attend services at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church here in Fredericksburg.
About My Career
I graduated in 1982 from Texas A&I University in Kingsville (now A&M-Kingsville) with a BS in Education and an English/Theater minor. I began my career teaching English and Theater Arts at Robstown High School. Then I moved to Rockport and taught English, Reading, and Texas History for 9 years at the middle school there. During these years, I added Social Studies, Reading and Elementary certifications. Since coming to FHS in 1999, I have taught English, Communications, Media Literacy, Government and now Economics. I am the Social Studies Department Head. I am the faculty adviser for National Honor Society and I coach UIL Current Events and Social Studies. I really love what I teach, but mostly I really love the kids. I really can't wait to get to school every day!
