Hello!  I am Karen Kraus and I teach Second Grade ELA.  I attended University of Houston and I have a Bachelor of Science degree with an Early Childhood certification.  This is my 23rd year of teaching!  I've taught five years in Kindergarten and twelve years in First Grade.  This will be my 6th year teaching Second Graders here in the beautiful Hillside Country of Fredericksburg, Texas. I feel so blessed to be a part of the Fredericksburg Elementary family and love teaching with my partner Mrs. Schwope. 

I am passionate about teaching Reading and Writing with a Balanced Literacy approach.  I enjoy inspiring students to enjoy the love of reading and helping them reach their maximal potential.  Together we can make a difference!
