Mr. Jeremy Grace

Hello, I'm Jeremy Grace and I'm a first year teacher at Frederickburg Elementary. I feel excited and privileged to be teaching resource math for the 2018-2019 school year. I'm a native Texan and grew up in The Woodlands, just north of the Houston area. I graduated in 2010 from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in Molecular and Cell Biology. I moved to the Kerrville/Fredericksburg area in 2017 shortly after getting married to my lovely wife. We moved to be closer to her family and we fell in love with the hill country after we had our wedding in Driftwood.

Prior to working in education I spent 2 years as a phlebotomist for a not for profit company dedicated to helping the north Texas community through blood, plasma, and platelet donations. While working as a phlebotomist I learned the value of teamwork and the pride of doing something for your community. More recently, I worked for 4 years in forensic psychology as a psyciatric nursing assistant, admissions recovery plan coordinator, and rights protection officer. Working in these roles allowed me to help individuals do their best to get their lives back on track even though they had to work twice as hard to overcome obstacles related to their mental illnesses.

As much as I enjoyed my previous work, I believe that I can make the biggest difference in education. I want to gently guide my students to work collaboratively, problem solve, and learn that making mistakes is a fundamental part of learning. This is typically the hardest lesson for children to learn. My teaching philosophy is that by providing students with a positive and supportive environment that they can accept small failures in order to facilitate even greater learning opportunities and motivation to challenge themselves.
