Here are our updates for the next couple of weeks. Remember, only bold and underlined events are REQUIRED for all choir students. However, some events are required for certain groups. Read carefully to see which events affect you/your child. Any changes from previous updates or the original calendar will be highlighted in red. 

• Tues. Oct. 4, NO 8th Grade Choir Rehearsal, 7:15-7:55. 
• Wed. Oct. 5, A Cappella Rehearsal, 4-5 PM
• Thurs. Oct. 6, JV Officer Meeting during B Lunch
• Thurs. Oct. 6, JV and Varsity Mixed Rehearsal, 4-5, Varsity Rehearsal, 5-6
• Thurs. Oct. 6, NO Varsity Officer Meeting. Meeting is Canceled.  
• Fri. Oct. 7, Varsity Performs at Pep Rally, (Required for Varsity. Wear choir shirts and jeans. Meet in CHOIR ROOM at 7:55)
• Tues. Oct. 11, 6-8th Grade Choir Rehearsal, 7:15-7:55. Required for ALL 6th-8th Grade Choir students. FMS Library.
• Tues. Oct. 11, A Cappella Rehearsal, 4-5 PM.
• Wed. Oct. 12, Fall Concert Dress Rehearsal FHS Auditorium, Required for ALL FMS & FHS Choir students. The Info sheet is attached below.
  • ​4-5:15, FMS Choirs rehearse (1 MS parent chaperone is still needed) 
  • 5-7 PM, HS Choirs rehearse. 
• ​Thurs. Oct. 13, Fall Concert, FHS Auditorium Required for ALL FMS & FHS Choir Students
  • ​Students must arrive by 5:45 for warm-up.
  • Fall Concert is from 6:30-7:30. Parents, families and friends are encouraged to attend!

It's been a great week or so back in school! We are settling into our routines and everyone is already singing so well. I'm excited about an awesome year.

• Mon. August 29, Choir Parent Committee Meeting, 5:30 - 6:30 (Let me know if you’d like to volunteer on this committee! Repeats monthly on the last Monday of each month.)

Hello, Varsity Choir Parents!

Good morning! We are really looking forward to the All-State camp and plans are definitely coming together. I've reattached the info sheet to this email for your reference.

We are still in need of 1-2 drivers to get us there and back. Please let me know if you are available to help us in this way. We are departing FHS at 4 PM on Friday and departing John Knox Ranch at 4 PM on Sunday.

Hi! It's come to my attention that many of you did not receive the email I sent out on Tuesday morning, so I'm re-posting it here.

Hi, Varsity Choir Parents and Students!

I hope you’ve all had a wonderful summer! I sure have, but I’m very excited to be back and gearing up for an amazing year.

After you've read this email, please send me a quick email or text to let me know you received it. :) 

Here are our important updates for August:

• Wednesday, August 10, 5-6 PM:  (New date) Catch up and rehearse the National Anthem
• Friday, August 12, 7:45 AM - 9:15 AM: (New date) Warm-up and sing the National Anthem at FISD Convocation.
• Friday, August 19-Sunday, August 21: All-State Camp at John Knox Ranch. This is an amazing opportunity! The info sheet/permission slip is attached. Please read. It will also be sent home on the first day of school.
• Friday, August 26: Represent Choir on a float at the Gillespie County Fair.
• Thursday, September 1, 4-5:30 PM: First after- school rehearsal 

Please see the attached schedule, which has had some updates since it was sent home in May. Items in bold will not change. All other items are tentative pending school and district approval. A few dates will also be added within the next couple weeks, such as singing the National Anthem at a football and volleyball game(s). 

Finally, I am looking for a group of parents to meet with myself and the student officers on a monthly basis this year! This group will help with all aspects of the choir program that are not instructional: fundraising, meals and snacks for events, volunteers for field trips, decorating at concerts and events such as the banquet, UIL uniform sizing, etc. Please let me know if you are interested in being on the Choir Parent Committee! This group will also lay the foundation for a future Choir Booster Club.

The last day of school is rapidly approaching, and our final concert of the 2021-2022 school year is on Friday. I simply cannot believe how quickly this year has gone by, and how truly wonderful it has been!

  • Wed. May 18, Tech Rehearsal for Pop Show Soloists, 4-7 PM (See Google Classroom for specific schedule, posted this morning)
  • Thurs. May 19, Pop Show Dress Rehearsal, 4-7 PM, Required for ALL Choir Students (Schedule & Attire detailed below)
    • 4-5:30 FMS Students and FHS 9th-11th Grade
