FISD Families,

We want to inform you that a bullet was brought onto one of our buses by a student. No firearm was found, and there was no threat made to any students or staff.

While there was no immediate danger, we treat all safety concerns transparently and seriously. The incident is being addressed in accordance with the Fredericksburg ISD procedures. 

This incident is a strong reminder of the importance of safely and securely storing all firearms and ammunition at home. In Texas, it is a criminal offense under Texas Penal Code 46.13 for an individual to make a readily dischargeable firearm accessible to a child if the individual is found to be criminally negligent. We encourage all families to take every precaution to ensure that firearms and ammunition are stored securely and kept out of reach of children.

As always, student and staff safety remains our highest priority.
