FMS Families,
We want to make you aware of an incident that occurred on November 11, 2025. We had a student made a threatening verbal comment to others in class. Campus administration acted immediately by investigating the situation and contacting local law enforcement.
Parents of those involved have been contacted. At this time, the student is not at school and we have no information indicating an active safety threat to the campus. Student privacy laws limit what we can share, but we are following established safety procedures.
All threats are taken seriously and investigated. Any student who makes, shares, or “jokes” about a threat will face consequences under the Student Code of Conduct and, when appropriate, through law enforcement.
Please partner with us by reinforcing this message at home:
- Threats are not acceptable.
- If you hear or see something concerning, say something to a trusted adult right away.
To report concerns directly to school leaders, call the campus at 830.997.7657. You may also submit an anonymous tip at www.fisd.org/reportit or through the P3 Campus reporting app. Sharing information with administrators helps us act quickly and keep students safe.
Please do not post or repost rumors, screenshots, or unverified information on social media. Online speculation can create confusion and slow an active investigation. If you have information, contact the campus or local law enforcement.
Our mission is to guide students to be the best version of themselves and achieve unlimited potential. That starts with a safe, orderly learning environment built on respect, integrity, and accountability. Thank you for your partnership in keeping our classrooms focused on learning.
Sincerely,
Dalen Kirchner
Principal of Fredericksburg Middle School
CENTEGIX Wearable Safety Badges
Quick help. Faster response. Campus-wide protection.
Fredericksburg ISD has deployed CENTEGIX wearable safety badges—a staff ID-style device that allows any employee to discreetly call for help with one button. The alert instantly reaches on-campus responders (SRO, assistant principal, nurse) and, if needed, can trigger a full campus lockdown and notify local law enforcement/911.
This is about doing what we say we do—put students first—by giving our people a fast, reliable way to get help when seconds matter.

HOLD is used in situations that require students to remain in their classrooms. For example, an altercation in the hallway may demand keeping students out of the halls until it is resolved.
SECURE is called when there is a threat or hazard outside of the school building. Whether it’s due to violence or criminal activity in the immediate neighborhood, or a dangerous animal in the playground, SECURE uses the security of the physical facility to act as protection.
LOCKDOWN is called when there is a threat or hazard inside the school building. From parental custody disputes to intruders to a weapon on campus, LOCKDOWN uses classroom security to protect students and staff from threat.
