Fredericksburg ISD High School Master Plan: Building for Our Future
Fredericksburg ISD is built on a strong foundation of community support, and the success of our students is closely connected to the involvement of families, staff, and local partners who invest in our schools each day. Master planning is a key part of that collaboration. It is the time when we invite our community to help shape the future of our district—offering ideas, sharing feedback, and identifying priorities that reflect local values. A master plan is the beginning of what could be. It is a long-range conversation that allows us to study needs, reflect on possibilities, and consider what the future of education in Fredericksburg ISD should look like. At the heart of this process is one guiding question: What does our community value, and what do we see for the future of education?
Current Stage: Bond Steering Committee
The Fredericksburg ISD Master Planning Committee voted to recommend building a new high school, and VLK Architects presented that recommendation to the Board of Trustees at the October 2025 Board Meeting. No action was taken at that meeting, and in support of the community, the district has now moved into the next phase of the planning process.
Fredericksburg ISD is currently in the Bond Steering Committee stage. This committee is reviewing district needs, studying information for every campus, and helping outline the details that could be included in a future bond package.
