Fredericksburg Independent School District makes every effort to provide transportation for all eligible students to and from school and school-related activities under guidelines set up by the Texas Education Agency. Any student who lives at least two (2) miles or more from his/her assigned school and any student who has special needs is also eligible for home-to-school transportation provided the student meets the requirements established at an ARD Meeting. Every effort will be made to see that the transportation provided is safe, pleasant and comfortable. To assure this type of transportation, it is necessary that there be cooperation among schools, transportation, students and parents. In particular, we cannot allow any student to hinder or disrupt our efforts in providing safe transportation. The registration card is to be read and filled out legibly and completely and returned to the bus driver. It is the responsibility of the parent or guardian to inform the student of the proper behavior on a school bus. Therefore, as a parent or guardian, YOU may need to read and discuss the contents of the Rules and Regulations with your child to promote a clear understanding of them and the expectations required. Failure to return the card at the time stated by the bus driver could result in a denial of bus riding privileges until such time as the completed card is in the hands of the Bus Driver. Riding a school bus in the State of Texas is a privilege and not a right. Failure to comply with the Bus Rules and Regulations will result in a forfeiture of that privilege. Therefore, we must have the utmost cooperation in every detail. If you have any questions about the bus policy, please contact the principal of the school where your child attends.
