FISD District News & Announcements

Dear Fredericksburg ISD Parents and Guardians,

The first six weeks of school have come to an end, and the excitement in our schools and the Billie community has been wonderful to see. Our staff members spent so much time preparing for the year ahead, and the vibrant energy radiating from our hallways, playgrounds, and classrooms is a testament to the incredible journey we have embarked upon together.

The joyous anticipation of learning and growing has brought smiles to not only our students’ faces but also our staff, who dedicate their lives to the futures of our children. Early successes in this school year have already become evident as students embrace new challenges and overcome hurdles. Witnessing their achievements so early on, whether big or small, is a true source of inspiration for us all. We are excited to celebrate each success as we embark on this year, and we know our community never fails to show its support.

At Fredericksburg ISD, safety has been and always will be our top priority, and we will continue to keep this at the forefront this school year. As we do each year, campuses will advise all students about safety protocols and will be practicing our regular emergency drills throughout the year. As you may recall, we have made safety investments over the last year, including the installation of RhinoWare floor-mounted door locks in all student classrooms. These locks add an additional layer of protection to secure our classrooms in the event of an emergency, and we have been diligent in our efforts to train all staff how to operate them. Additionally, we have added staffing so that every campus will have a school resource officer or security officer, and additional fencing has been installed at Fredericksburg Elementary School. We take our responsibility of keeping students and staff safe seriously, and we also ask for your continued support as we work to remind our students about the importance of our safety drills and procedures.

As a lifelong educator, I can relate to the excitement, hope, and pride that a new school year brings, but I also know that some of our students and parents may also be a little anxious. Please know that we are all in this together, and no matter what grade level your student is in, we are committed to the success of your child. Thank you for entrusting their education to Fredericksburg ISD and your continued partnership.

Sincerely,

Joe Rodriguez Signature
